What's a Foundry? It's a factory that melts metal into liquid form to pour it into molds to make everything from boilers, to man hole covers to light poles. Wiliamsport Foundry in Williamsport Pennsylvania has been in the Doebler family since 1916. Brothers Frank and Bud Doebler, both in their 70s, have worked at this foundry their entire lives, only recently taking it over from their father when he retired at 93 years old. This foundry is unique in that it still uses a coke fired cupola to fire the furnace instead of an electric furnace. Old school doesn't begin describe this foundry and the work ethic of Frank and Bud who show no signs of giving up on this family run business.
