Redd's Pond Boatworks of Marblehead, Mass specializes in hand built and hand-restored wooden boats in the grand tradition of east coast shipwrights. Owner Doug Park grew up sailing the waters around Marblehead and passionately continues a great tradition of watermen and ship builders by using techniques passed down through generations in service of the great masterpieces he keeps afloat. Doug took over ownership of Redds Pond Boatworks in 2011 from local sailing legend Thad Danielson after an apprenticeship and is dedicated to the next generation of sailors and shipwrights through the boatworks' summer boat building programs for youth.
